The ReMembering and ReEnchanting Podcast

Conversations

Conversations with amazing people connecting what is all too often disconnected

As we come upon the 2 year anniversary of the COVID 19 global pandemic and the numerous global shutdowns, your hostess Sara Jolena Wolcott and one of her primary thought partners and colleagues, the Chennai-based sustainable livelihood expert Ramasubramanian (Ram), discuss what has and has not shifted in the past two years, and some of the implications for the future. The two friends start with economics and move to mindsets, values, and embodied spiritual expressions in communities on both sides of the world. Most of the focus is on India, especially sustainable livelihoods in rural communities, where Ram spends most of his time.

Some key points:

5:09 - What happened? Going through three levels - macroeconomy, values/conversations, and local economy
15:09 - Connecting agricultural shifts, livelihood shifts, and education
17:43 - What’s shifting and changing?
37:18 - Will large companies engage more with local economies, especially as more employees move towards rural areas? And how is this shift impacting the local economy??
54:04 - What can we do with our hands and our hearts?
