We Circle Through Time….
Discern throughout the curve of the year.
Use an ancient temporal technology, tried and true
Circular Time Calendars reveal what Linear Timelines conceal
Align with Earth Time (not just clock time)
Multiple dates available for December 2025 and January 2026.
From the End arises the Beginning.
Time is not linear. Time curves.
So why are you still using a linear calendar and pretending that you can chart your life in a straight line?
If you care about aligning with Earth Time, not just Clock Time, this is one of the most powerful and substantial processes out there.
An Ancient Temporal Technology
ReCrafted for Navigating Contemporary Chaos
A Proven Tool to Ground, Reflect, Discern, Compost, and Grow.
Circular Time Calendars return your linear year into the supportive seasonal cycle that has always been there, hidden in plain site.
By participating in our annual Year Turning offerings, you get to learn this powerful tool and engage in meaningful sense-making, both as an individual and as part of our collective. This is a tangible tool that can support your ecological integration, both in your work and your life as a whole.
Different aspects of this skill-building include:
Decolonizing - Because linear time systems are part of the overarching process of colonization.
Ecological Connection - Reconnect time and space in your particular place.
Interconnectivity and Systems Thinking - Make connections within your own life and see how your life connects to the greater Life we live within; sense individual and systemic patterns.
Purpose-Finding - The questions we ask significantly support people in finding their next steps and, over time, their purpose.
Climate Adaptation - We track shifts in seasons and ecology, including what’s growing when and where.
Wisdom - Our community gathering and ritual help illicit wisdom as a function of the whole.
Faithfulness to Your Call - This process can be an integral part of your spiritual growth and personal development.
How this works
We find the easiest way to begin with the circular time process is through an annual reflection. While this can happen at any time of year, Year Turning (ie, December and January) are times when many people are already doing annual reflection, so that is the time of year we open up sessions for anyone to join us. That said, we do offer individualized sessions throughout the year (so you can book one on your birthday, for example!)
There are four primary aspects to learning about circular/cyclical/spiraling time.
1) Historical context and contemporary inquiries.
2) Doing it yourself - creating your own reflective calendar. Once you learn the process in an annual reflection, it is much easier to use it for other forms of both reflecting and planning later on.
3) Seeing how other people people are doing it
4) Engaging with someone who has experience with this tool to engage in pattern making/sense-making for both your own work/life and a bit more of our shared life together.
We support all four of these through this offering.
Upon registering, you will receive a workbook which covers both (1) some historical context and philosophy and (2) offers you a simple DIY process.
You will also be invited to a small group experience where you can (3) engage with how others are doing it and (4) benefit from Sara Jolena’s experience in working with this tool. This space is more akin to a sacred sharing container than to a “workshop” per se, but we often do take some time to co-work on our individual calendars. In order to keep these groups small (we cap it at seven people per group, though four is more common), we offer multiple sessions.
Once you click the ‘register now’ button, you will have the chance to choose one of the date that works best for you. Each session is hosted by Sara Jolena, who will offer some insights, and lasts for about 75 minutes. You will receive a calendar invite with all of the necessary information. Please note that sessions are not recorded.
If you cannot make any of these dates but still want to go through the material and reflect on it, please feel free to reach out to us and we will create a specific time for you.

Testimonials from people who have been participating in this work for many years….
“Using a circular calendar helped me see patterns in my life that I wouldn't have seen otherwise. It's inherently a more natural and spiritual process than using a traditional calendar. It's a great tool for reflecting on and then re-imagining how we want to live our lives and where we want to put our energy.
I love participating in these gatherings on the solstices and equinoxes, or whenever else Sara Jolena offered them. It was also a delight to support the Lunar New Year Circular Time workshop in New Mexico, where we spent a whole weekend engaging with circular time together!”

“Everything about this process - the workbook, the sessions, the community, Sara Jolena's insights, and the incredible warmth and strength we garnered - has helped me. Many years after participating in my first Annual Circling Through Time Ritual, I am still using circular calendars and they are helping me to see the patterns in my garden, my client's lives, and in my family life.”
— Krystina F.
Herbalist, Midwife, Mother
“I’ve been using the circular calendar for over five years with my garden and with my family. It has been so fascinating and helpful!
Now, as we enter this tragic and painful time, when I am filled with so much grief, I am grateful for the lessons this tool keeps offering us. Seeing the patterns more clearly helps us understand how they and we can change.”
— Amy K.
Mother, Gardener, Community Organizer, Faith Leader
“A linear society that thinks in terms of ‘cradle to grave’ will have an endpoint. It won’t be sustained. However, a culture that thinks cyclically and reinvests all ‘waste’ into its livelihood will continue like a circle, it will never end.”
— Lyla June Johnson,
Indigenous environmental scientist, educator, and poet of Diné (Navajo), Tsétsêhéstâhese (Cheyenne) and European lineages
Bring Circular Calendars to your organizations
Institutions will struggle to ignite a regenerative future if they themselves use non-sustainable processes and tools.
You need tools that will firmly situate your organization in regenerative processes.
Circular Time calendars and the processes we have developed to engage with them provides a powerful, proven tools for organizations that seek to enable sustainability both internally and externally.
Bring this regenerative temporal technology to your organization, network, or climate leadership program.
Here’s what our participants are saying
Time and Space are intimately connected.
Your vocation is shaped by where and when you are. Let this ancient temporal technology support you in gaining balance and alignment in these apocalyptic times.
