Experiments in non-violent economies: Hind Swaraj, Critique and Construction
This course is co-designed and taught by Ramasubramanian Oruganti (Ram) from Chennai, India. Over three months, we will go into contemporary and historical experiments with non-violent economies, regenerative livelihoods, strengthening traditional/non-Western forms of governance, and shifting the status quo. The course includes reading Hind Swaraj, one of Gandhi’s most remarkable and accessible critiques of Western/capitalist economies.
